Don’t undertake a project unless it is manifestly important and nearly impossible.

Research and Development

The “I Love U Guys” Foundation has changed the way schools and organizations do their business. And it’s not just about safety. We’re investing in programs across the spectrum of school climate, culture, response, recovery and the aftermath. There is certainly opportunity to underwrite an existing program. Program Underwriting is an important part of the Foundation’s commitment to evaluate and evolve our materials.

Initiative Research and Development is our future.

Funding a new initiative gives partners “Grandfather” status. All materials, programs, curriculum resulting from the initial Research and Development acknowledge the contribution.

The Aftermath Project

Based on case studies, interviews, actions and outcomes, the Aftermath Project is capturing both what went well and what didn’t in the aftermath of school violence events. The objective is to provide pragmatic, compassionate, and proven guidance on how to move through the recovery process, with kindness and fortitude.

The day we lost Emily at Platte Canyon High School, every student, every teacher, every staff member was affected.
But it doesn’t end there. Every sibling, every parent, every aunt, uncle and grandparent was affected.
There’s more. Every Cop, Firefighter, EMT, Paramedic… Even dispatchers were affected.
Communities are impacted by these events.
But often folks marginalize their own experiences.

What If I Told You We Can Stop School Attacks?

What if I told you we can stop school attacks? There’s research that shows us how. There are programs giving us the path. And, BOLD people and organizations are working collectively to get it done.

The Foundation has been working with organizations locally, statewide and nationally to advance school safety.

BOLD isn’t an acronym. It’s an Assertion.

The Chaparral Project

Youth

In nature, chaparral is a diverse ecosystem that thrives in a challenging environment.

No one can build great programs alone. Historically, The “I Love U Guys” Foundation (The Foundation) has served as a catalyst to bring together the knowledge that exists among a broad array of safety practitioners and end users in the realm of school safety. The primary purpose for creating this advisory committee is to engage with the end users of our programs, therefore we are inviting students to join an advisory committee to collaborate and contribute to the evolution of the Standard Response Protocol and Standard Reunification Method programs and trainings.

The power of youth is the common wealth for the entire world. The faces of young people are the faces of our past, our present and our future. No segment in the society can match with the power, idealism, enthusiasm and courage of the young people.

Project Unite

Together

Project UNITE provides a step-by-step guide for implementing best practices for violence prevention in K-12 schools, using federal recommendations and community policing strategies. The key components of Project UNITE are:

  • Positive school culture and climate
  • Bystander reporting and response
  • Information sharing
  • Threat and suicide assessment.

Together, these components create an integrated system for identifying, evaluating, and supporting students and others who are struggling due to adverse childhood experiences or other life challenges that, left unattended, may result in self-harm or violence toward others. The guide provides training and resources for school-communities that vary in size, composition, and geographic setting (e.g., rural, urban, suburban).
